When using more than 0.450" lift with your Vortec heads, we recommend using our high performance valve spring upgrade Vortec heads. After machining the valve guides for clearance, we install our high performance Z28 valve springs with lightweight LT4 retainers. This produces a high revving cylinder head that can handle up to 0.600" lift hydraulic camshafts. And we also machine for screw in studs and guide plates, which are not included with this upgrade. The great flow characteristics of the Vortec heads with high performance valve springs is the perfect way to top off your new street/strip engine.
