This painted steel 7-quart oil pan is specially designed for Gen V and Gen VI Big Block Chevy engine swaps in 1962-67 Chevy II without power steering and 1955-57 Chevys. Transmission must be in stock position. Designed for street-performance machines that occasionally see some track time. Chevy II vehicles have a steering linkage that this pan is notched to accommodate. This oil pan is modified with a Deep Sump with a depth of 9” for increased capacity that will improve oil control under hard acceleration and run cooler. It is designed for a simple bolt-on installation in production chassis. With a Deep Sump oil pan you will get improved oil control over stock pans because of their increased capacity. Usually deep sumps are specially baffled with a swinging trap door that keeps oil contained in the pickup area to prevent oil starvation under hard acceleration.
