Edelbrock offers its famous Flathead cylinder heads for Fords and Mercury’s. These Flathead are rugged, ribbed internally and externally, have a large water capacity and excellent breathing characteristics. Made of A356 aluminum and T-6 tempered, an 8.0:1 compression ratio is figured on blocks with a 3/16" base relief (stock bore and stroke). Compression ratio increase is approximately 3/10 of a ratio with each 1/8" stroke. Recommended spark plugs for these heads are: Champion H-9 and H-10 commercial with a 7/16" reach.
