    427? November 4, 2007
got to admit i just dont care for the 572. simply too many cubes and too much stroke! at 3.75 inch stroke - i imagine this 427 could be tached up pretty high! that to me is what a good street car is all about. i do wonder if it is a 9.5 or 10-1 cr?

    Mr J C September 8, 2008
Since GM wouldnt sell me the Anniversary engine (They cancelled my Order with my dealer twice) I had to have this one as a replacement for my old tired stock 427 in my 69 Vette. LONG LIVE THE 427 And what a deal its 16 grand cheeper!

Look No Further December 10, 2007
The King of All Engines ever to hit an engine bay period. Not ford not even the hemi holds a candle to the 427 chevy! For once in a long time GM has made a couragous and intelligent decision.

    Good ol' 427 w/ New Parts,Performance December 30, 2007
IT'S GOOD TO HEAR THE 427 IS STILL HERE AND WITH UPDATES TO HELP PERFORMANCE AND STILL RUN ON REG.FUEL.I WILL BE GETTING ONE JUST AS SOON AS IT GOES ON SALE FOR 65' CHEVY P.U. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND LONG LIVE THE 427!!!!!!

    Too fine April 20, 2008
What a fine piece of engineering.

Project Chevelle is on Hold Now! July 14, 2008
Please sell this to me. I can't finish my 1967 chevelle SS Clone until GM allows me to buy one of these!

    ABOUT TIME December 4, 2007
SO NICE, THE TRUE 427 STYLE, NOT LIKE THOSE new LS6 CORVETTE 427'S THAT LOOK AND SOUND LIKE CRAP. THESE ENGINES ARE GOING TO SELL FAST.

    Almost a home run December 24, 2007
This is nostalgia at best but why not go the next step and bring back the L-88 for the rest of us? You've got the heads in the catalog, you've got the cams, all you need are the pistons. Come on Chevy. Building only 427 of anything is for collectors. Bring back the REAL bad boy of my youth again, the L-88.

    1969 All Over Again March 28, 2008
Having owned COPO and/or L78 Chevelles continuously since 1969, I can only smile. Perhaps a COPO clone with an updated engine should be in order.

fuel pump pad January 25, 2008
does the block have a mechanical fuel pump pad?

    OUTSTANDING! May 23, 2008
Nice to see the re-introduction of an internally balanced, over-square big block...and with great engineering upgrades. I have a Corvette that is waiting for this 427. Great job GM. Could you follow-on with a BASE KIT of the 427/430?

Oil Burner Again? February 2, 2008
This is exciting. A true 427 Chevy big block again for us old car people. I am curious if this engine has that useless "low tension ring" that makes the other big blocks eat oil like a pig?

    THREE DUECES AND A 4 SPEED. January 27, 2008
THOSE WERE THE DAYS IN THE SIXTYS WHEN I GREW UP.THE 427 WAS KING,THE 3 CARBS GAVE IT 435 HP.THATS WHATS GOING IN MY SONS 70 NOVA.THEN HE WILL TRUELY KNOW WHAT A FAST CAR IS.NOT THE SLOW EURO TORQUE THAT SOME PEOPLE THINK IS FAST.

So much racing knowledge started here... November 25, 2007
If we could pick the brains of the old guys who started drag racing with the 427...wow! And, there is the ZL1! I would love to build a car around one! The only ZL1 I saw in person, was in Farmington, IA at the Strawberry Festival-Kenny Hamburg Auto Show. Always the first Sunday, of the first full week. End of Power Tour too! It is a must for me, I grew up there. But imagine my face when I saw the aluminum big block in a Forest Green 69 Camaro. I looked down to see if it had a silver grill. IT DID! Then I asked, WOW! Probably 1500 people walked by and no one knew! A "REAL ZL1" on the placard, I never noticed that. Yes, the car came from LaHarpe, IL. IF ONLY I could afford the serial numbered ZL1.

    Nice Engine March 28, 2008
Great bore to stroke ratio , making for a high fast revving engine , hope they put out a short block also . I'm a chevy fan but to say the side oiler ford , and hemi are lessor engines is wrong both have higher toque and HP rateings . Id like to here from someone who has laid hands on one , not just conjecture .

when you say 427 you've said it all..., april 18,2 April 18, 2008
I'm just beginning a restoration on a 68 biscayne and was considering the 502, but now oh boy! the true king is back rated at a "conservative "430 hp so you've got to guess more like 450 to 475, and just think of the upgrade possibilities when it's time for a rebuild. Man ol' man does this thing bring back memories. Before I forget when I set the 427 down in the "cayne" it will be the original "chevy orange". Thanks General, you've just give some of us old guys a second shot at the good ol' days

just the BB I really want February 3, 2008
The original short stroke, internally balanced big block with the 21st century goodies like a roller cam and big power on pump gas. This is the functional BB I need-nothing more. I just hope it has the standard side mount bosses and accepts the good ole but reliable mechanical fuel pump.
