Jr. snorter, |

| 1978 Blazer (lead pig), 130,000 miles on this engine installed in 1995 (well maintained since), NO BLOWBY, with only front two barrels of Holley 4779, it rips. Shame its only 8.5:1 compression, ruins the fuel mileage. Gonna fix that soon.... Best improvement was to lose the stock carb. Theres a reason theyre called Quadra Junk. |

"Just A Bullet Proof Engine"..., |
November 26, 2007 |
| Oct'98 I installed this engine with a Delco ReMFG transmission in my '85 ChevyBurban and it gave top performance thru '04 after six trips to upper Iowa each year from Houston and many, many trips to the bay. Matched a edelbrock carb, & was getting 21mpg highway. I was 55yo then and now I'm looking for a good '70s SB PU to do it again, myself. |

GREAT MOTOR, |
May 31, 2007 |
| I put one of these motors in my 1982 Chevy Long bed p/u almost 3 years ago. With nothing else but a stock HEI, HEADERS, 2 1/2 with flowmaster deltaflows exhaust, edelbrock 2101 intake, and 1406 carb with a 1/2 spacer. It smoked the tires, and scrathes 2nd gear rubber with the TH400. All while giving excellent fuel milage. For everyday use there is no better deal on the planet. |
